Insurance Brokers Association of Toronto Region (IBTR)

Founded in 1950, the Insurance Brokers Association of the Toronto Region (IBTR) is a not-for-profit professional association committed to supporting and advocating for independent insurance brokers across the Greater Toronto Area.

At the core of our mission is a simple yet powerful belief: there is strength in unity. IBTR proudly represents independent brokers, promoting their interests while serving the broader needs of the industry, the public, and our members.

We work to foster strong connections between brokers and key stakeholders—encouraging collaboration, open communication, and innovation to advance both the insurance profession and the communities we serve.

As an affiliate of the Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO), IBTR actively supports provincial advocacy efforts.

What kind of volunteer work does IBTR offer?

IBTR offers a variety of volunteer opportunities designed to match your interests and expertise. Members can get involved by joining committees, helping to organize events, mentoring new brokers, participating in advocacy efforts, or contributing to educational initiatives.

How much time is required?

We understand your time is valuable. Most volunteer roles are flexible and require only a few hours per month. Committee meetings are typically held quarterly, with occasional additional time commitments depending on projects or events.

It’s easy to get involved! Simply let us know your area of interest, and we’ll connect you with a committee or initiative that suits your background and goals. Volunteers work alongside industry peers, building relationships while contributing to the growth and success of the broker community.
